We’re so easy to pick up on the scent of another but can become too comfortable with our own. We are only really able to register it once we’ve been removed and then returned to its familiarity. The same can be said for our habits, personality traits, impressions, and inklings.
Instead of looking within, sometimes we look outside of ourselves to justify our own perceptions, trying to find remnants of our own scent on the imprint of our outer world.
To experience what it feels like to be seen. For our presence to be felt. To be accepted and heard.
When really the only person whose scent we need to track down and cherish is our own.
My wish for you is that you don’t forget the smell of yours. That you remember your worth and purpose.
