I found a very simple smoothie recipe on TikTok (’cause we all know sometimes they can end up tasting BLEH if we don’t add the right combination of ingredients) that called for a combination of ingredients I hadn’t experimented with before. The morning of my sorority’s formal I decided to try it for myself and ended up LOVING it! I named it ‘The Calm Before the Storm’ in honor of coming up with the recipe on the morning of the formal, which is a little corny I know, but it explains all you need to know. As I said earlier, it’s super simple, tasty, and is an impactful way to get in your daily nutrients at once if you know you’re going to have a busy day where you won’t have the opportunity to do so later.
Ingredients
-1 frozen banana
-a handful of frozen spinach
-7 cubes of cut-up pineapple (doesn’t necessarily have to be frozen)
-a spoonful of nut butter (I used sun butter because I’m allergic to nuts)
-a dash of cinnamon
-half a small carton of coconut water
-a handful of ice cubes
Directions
1. Make sure you have ALL of the tools necessary to blend. I forgot the inner blade that blends everything and had to take everything out mid-way through putting the ingredients into the blender. I guess I was a little too excited about the day ahead 🤣
2. Put all of the ingredients into the blender.
3. Blend. This may take a couple of times so you can scrape down the sides or get any air bubbles out.
4. ENJOY!!!!
