My world was forever changed when I tried my first dirty martini this year but has been even more transformed after I made my first one at home. It’s much more simple to make than you think, on top of being much cheaper than the average $13 dollar price tag that comes along with ordering one out. The great thing about dirty martinis is that you can interchange the mix with different types of olive juices (or dare I say – PICKLE JUICES?! – more on this later) that suit your fancy. After trying this recipe, you just may raise your drink standards and never go back to making yourself vodka waters. We all deserve the best things in life, right?!
Ingredients
1 1/2 shots of vodka (I recommend using top-shelf options like Tito’s or Grey Goose for the smoothest taste)
1 shot of Kalamata olive juice (as mentioned above, you can switch this out with other types of olives)
3 Kalamata olives to garnish
Directions
1. (Optional) About 30 minutes to an hour in advance, splash a bit of water around in a martini glass and pour out the remaining excess. Place the glass in a safe spot in the freezer.
2. Get out a shaker and put in a hefty amount of ice.
3. Add the vodka and Kalamata olive juice.
4. Shake for about 15 seconds.
5. Serve the concoction in the frozen martini glass, or any ‘fancy’ glass you have lying around (we’ve had to use wine glasses, and there’s no shame in it).
6. Garnish with three Kalamata olives.
7. Prepare your face to be like this after your first sip.
