2024 show & tell: February fixations

By

The Usher Super Bowl Halftime Show.

From the jaw-dropping outfits he donned to bringing Lil John out and all the rollerblading in between, I was blown away by the level of intentionality that went into making the production both cohesive and explosive at the same time.

Having a weekly day of rot.

Because, like I always say, sometimes you have to flop before you slay.

Wearing jeans.

& Canadian tuxedos – nothing has changed over here. My current favorites are the ‘Low Rise Baggy’ style from Abercrombie, and am also loving their male counterpart.

SUMO ORANGES!!!

Don’t let looks deceive you. They look boonkie on the outside, but once you get past the peel you’ll be met with one of the most delicious and easy-to-eat pieces of fruit that you’ve probably ever tried. A true Ugly Duckling origin story.

Going down rabbit holes on Reddit.

I’m definitely late to the party on this one. Reddit is like TikTok but in written form, and just like with TikTok, it’s so fun to see completely different people come together and share their perspectives with the world on this platform.

Listening to entire albums instead of automatically resorting to a playlist.

The month of February has got me going back to my roots more than ever before by beckoning me to listen to Lorde and Gucci Mane on repeat.

Buttered toast.

ESPECIALLY when it’s a slice of sourdough with a nice sprinkling of salt on top.

This ab workout & intentionally working out my arms.

As embarrassing as this is to admit I can finally do a full push-up after 23 years.

Being less practical.

All roads point back to the fact that life is short so get the chocolate croissant, book the flight, etc etc etc.
