i got my peaches out in georgia

By

The true kickoff to summer in my book isn’t commemorated by the Summer Solstice, but rather by the first time I get to enjoy a peach over the sink each year.

This year, summer started on June 8th for me, which happened to be perfectly aligned with THE Columbus event of the season, The Memorial Tournament.

It was a picture-perfect day on the green and a memory I will cherish forever. We stayed at Hole 7 for a good while, where we waited around to see Rory McIlroy in his all-navy outfit and Ludvig Åberg in hopes that my Mormor would see us on Swedish television (it didn’t happen). I now understand the hype around golf tournaments – nowhere else can you (hopefully) enjoy nice weather and a Transfusion amongst a mostly quiet crowd.

The next day, Reagan, Syd, and I rallied and had our June Tinis & TB: Sunday Funday Edition before we’re all in and out of town with summer travels. Just know that if there’s a Pisco Sour on the menu, we’re getting it. This was another 10/10 day, where we hopped around rooftops, traded the lore of our lives up until knowing each other, and to top it all off, all got a new forever bracelet to celebrate our monthly tradition.

The seasonal changing of the guard has already occurred with cherry blossom season being replaced by hydrangeas. I was ecstatic to discover these beautiful blooms aren’t confined strictly to the South, and have found bulbs on essentially every corner of my neighborhood up here in Ohio. Another little slice of home!

And with that, HAPPY SUMMER – I hope y’all are soaking up the sun and enjoying yourselves!!

💘 Hanna
