day 6: peeling back the layers of the onion

By

what if I told you that most of the choices you make every day—how you dress, the music you listen to, even the foods you eat—aren’t truly yours?

they’ve been shaped by societal expectations, unconscious routines, and invisible “shoulds.” you’ve been performing a script you didn’t write.

do, for Day 6 of The Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed Series, we’re pressing pause on autopilot living. today is about reclaiming your authenticity through radical self-inquiry and honest reflection. no shame, no judgment, just observation.

your challenge: become hyper-aware of your habits and start asking why you do what you do. the goal is to break the habit of being someone you’re not—and start building a life that genuinely reflects who you are.

use the power of mindfulness and observation to peel back the layers:

  • why do you eat the foods you do? Is it because you love them or because they’re “healthy” or “approved”?
  • why do you feel compelled to explain or justify your choices to others?
  • do you actually enjoy the book on your nightstand—or are you reading it because it’s trending online?
  • why do you constantly jump from one task to the next? what’s driving that urgency?
  • why do you dress the way you do? is it your style—or someone else’s?

you get the gist.

today is about conscious living. intentionality is the key to transformation.

Socrates famously said, “to know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.” and he was so right. you can’t become the brightest, boldest, most beautiful version of yourself without first understanding who you actually are beneath the noise.

so dig deep. peel back the layers. question everything. and most importantly—don’t forget to have fun. let’s get into it, yuhhhhhh!!!

💘, HANNA
