you don’t need more advice, another list of steps or for someone to give you permission. what you really need is the courage to follow what you already know deep down — to trust those inner nudges, even when they feel intimidating.
for Day 13 of the Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed Series, your challenge is simple in theory but powerful in practice:
do something that scares you.
this doesn’t mean jumping out of a plane or making a grand, dramatic gesture (unless you want to). it means choosing something that makes you feel a little exposed, a little shaky, but also a little free.
that might look like:
- taking yourself out to dinner alone
- turning down an invitation you feel pressured to accept
- telling someone how you really feel
- wearing that outfit you secretly love but fear you “can’t pull off” (you absolutely can)
- or, like me, volunteering to present in a meeting at work
these acts of bravery don’t have to be loud, they just have to be honest.
and here’s the thing: most of the time, the fear is all in our heads. the thought of doing the thing is far scarier than the actual experience itself. but when we show up anyway, when we do it scared, we start to expand what we believe is possible.
you grow every time you step outside of your comfort zone, you stretch into new versions of yourself, and you begin to rewrite your own story — not from fear, but from freedom.
so whatever that little scary thing is for you today… go do it.
feel the fear, and do it anyway!!! because bravery isn’t about being fearless — it’s about choosing yourself even when you are.
see you tomorrow:)
💘, HANNA
