weeknight habits that help to zen me out

By

something i’ve learned from working towards creating a life that i love to live every day instead of just looking forward to the weekends is how important it is to have small rituals and routines that help me to come back to myself after a long day at work.

here are some of my favorite ways to unwind after being a corporate weapon:

lighting a candle and putting a house / jazz playlist on while doing the dishes

*it’s all about the ambiance*

meal prepping ingredients on Sunday night

sometimes you have to walk to run, and making sure all veggies are chopped and quinoa is cooked makes assembling healthy dinner take 5 minutes when i’m feeling lazy

soaking my feet in magnesium salt

and i sleep like a BABY after doing so

no phone while eating dinner

(which has proven to be a reset button for undoing all of the stimulation from earlier in the day)

letting myself feel all the feels

and if that involves a cry because i miss my dog…….then so be it

going on walks in the neighborhood

spring is springing and that post-daylight savings light is looking too crispy to not partake in after work

meal prepping on Sunday to not to have to worry about food

always having to figure out your next meal is one more thing to think about

deleting Instagram on weekdays and only redownloading on the weekend

this has helped to prevent unnecessary time lost from mindlessly scrolling

these tiny lifestyle shifts might seem small, but together they create a rhythm that help to support my overall well-being. if you’re looking for easy ways to slow down and feel more grounded more regularly, consider building your own menu of calming rituals — your future self will thank you later!!

💘, HANNA
