SUMMER 2025 FAVORITES

By

a list of all of the things that are making me levitate during the warm weather because…….HOW YOU GOIN BE MAD ON SUMMER VACATION????

GETTING IN LOTS OF MOVEMENT AND OUTSIDE TIME

i got roped into a HOTWORX membership (which i’m lowkey convinced is a pyramid scheme) from not realizing that the required mat to take classes costed $137 after i already bought the membership. to get my ROI, i’ve been going at least five times a week so far. although i was feeling a bit of buyers remorse at first, it has proven to be a great workout and an incredible detoxifier.

since it’s also been so nice out, i’ve made it a point to walk over driving whenever possible. this little challenge has helped me average 7k steps a day without even thinking about it, and has allowed me to experience the city of Columbus in ways i hadn’t been open to before.

BRANCHING OUT WITH FOOD

there are two foods that have crossed the line of being a hyper fixation meal and are now in obsession territory: kefir and buffalo cauliflower bites. i don’t know why it took me 24 years to try kefir, but it’s literally a healthy version of the Danimal yogurt smoothie we used to have as kids. if i had it my way, i would have a bottle of it a day. and don’t even get me started on buffalo cauliflower bites. they are surprisingly easy to make, are so flavorful, AND is a great way to incorporate veggies into your diet. speaking of vegetables — i had some of the best shishito peppers of my whole life at Little West Tavern a couple of Saturdays ago.

DOUBLING DOWN ON ROUTINES I ACTUALLY ENJOY

the best thing about summer is the laissez-faire attitude that’s able to come so naturally to all that seek it. i’ve embraced having more openness for spontaneity by not scheduling out my days like i did this past fall and winter, where the only consistency is my “Sunday snack,” the salad bowl i religiously get from Brassica.

GOING BACK TO MY ROOTS

not only have wearing sundresses and making bucket lists found their way back into becoming habitual rituals as of late, but Fisher has made my song of the summer six years later (OMG) after Losing It defined the summer of 2019. i’ve also rediscovered the oh-so-crispy Oyster Bay Sauvy B and have gone back to using 😂 instead of 🤣 laughing emojis. is nature healing? i think yes.

💘, HANNA
