with the sun starting to go down at 4PM i’ve found myself starting to double down on routines and rituals to make things work for me without having to even think about it so i can focus on getting maximum R&R. here are some of the ways i’ve tried to stay both fabulous and functional amidst the changing of the seasons.
spoonful of raw honey after dinner
in an effort to reduce the amount of processed food i eat, a spoonful of raw honey whenever i want something sweet has proven to be the perfect substitute instead of candy whiled providing some anti-inflammatory benefits.
putting my hair in a heatless curl wrap after showering at night
in the spirit of being prepared for anything and everything, living in NYC has motivated me to not slack on getting ready in the morning because you really don’t know what each day will bring. this heatless hair wrap has been a life saver in helping me wake up with effortless curls without having to use a touch of heat. it’s also taken me two years to discover that all it takes is using less slack on the hair (especially on the front section pieces) to create a 90s blowout look.
salads for lunch
i was once a huge proponent of packing my own lunch, but those days have changed since discovering i can cut grocery costs and unnecessary food waste by simply ordering a salad twice a week. kale has been my green of choice with honey mustard dressing and sweet potato as of late.
overnight collagen mask once a week
it shouldn’t come as a surprise that i’m once again on my Sukoshi soapbox, but incorporating a “work smarter not harder” mentality with skincare by primarily using Korean products has helped my skin stay hydrated amidst the drop in temperatures. the APRILSKIN TXA Niacinamide 99 Night Wrapping Mask has been one of the biggest needle-movers in making my skin glow and literally works while you sleep.
drops of black seed oil followed by coconut water in the morning
the onset of fall also means the beginning of flu season, and to combat against the seasonal scaries i’ve resorted to taking a proactive approach to my health by taking a couple drops of black seed oil (anti-inflammatory) and sipping on some coconut water (hydration) with my fruit bowl breakfast.
wishing you a healthy and happy fall!!! ❤
💘, HANNA
