my ride-or-die skincare products of 2021

By

2021 was the year where I grew in my self-confidence by learning how to give back to myself through daily routines and rituals. It was also the year where I developed a skincare routine simple enough to look forward to at the end of the day, yet powerful enough to keep my sensitive skin at ease. After weeks of testing different items, I can firmly say that these products have changed my skin for the better and will be staples in my regime for years to come.

The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

I’ve been passionate about skincare for years but hadn’t tried applying hyaluronic acid after washing my face until a few months ago. It has made applying serums and creams so much more seamless and noticeably helped my face retain hydration throughout the day.

The Inkey List’s 15% Vitamin C + EGF Serum

Vitamin C serum has been a part of my skincare regimen for about seven years. I love this one in particular because of its competitive price and how quickly it’s been able to brighten and restore the surface of my skin.

Drunk Elephant’s Protini Polypeptide Cream

All of the rave and accolades this product has accumulated over time holds true to its effectiveness. I had struggled in the past to find a moisturizer that adequately nourishes my dry skin without causing patches of flaky skin until I decided to give this one a try. This moisturizer has been a game-changer in making my skin look like I drank a gallon of water while helping it stay smooth for hours after applying. It’s worth every penny.

Honest’s Eczema Relief Cream

Eczema is something I’ve struggled with since I was a baby and I have tried countless creams to try to alleviate it. I cannot recommend this one enough, so much so that I finished one off within a couple of months. The combination of colloidal oatmeal and coconut oil soothes any flare-ups that arise and has helped to drastically reduce surface inflammation on my skin.

Skincare is such an individualized area so take my opinions with a grain of salt and be sure to pay attention to how your body reacts when trying out new products. I cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store for new skincare finds and hope this was helpful!
