if you’ve been looking for an easy way to spice up a mantle or doorway on a budget during the holiday season, this bow garland could be your answer! not only is it cost efficient, but takes less than an afternoon to execute and is absolutely adorable. keep scrolling for a step-by-step written guide on how to make bow garland with tips and tricks i discovered along the way.

materials
a block of fabric (i used the ‘Tissue Lame Fabric’ in Gold from Hobby Lobby)

directions
first, make a mark every two inches (or one inch for thinner bows) with your pen.
then cut the fabric horizontally along the marks. i used the tape measure as a tool to keep the lines straight.
you’ll be left with 20-30 strips of fabric depending on how thick or thin you decided to cut each strip.

^ the strips will look something like this.
now its time to tie them into bows!

Pinterest and TikTok have a TON of helpful guides on how to tie a bow with ribbon / fabric if you get stuck (like i did).

BOOMSHAKALAKA!
now lets get that hot glue gun plugged in and fired up.

start by placing the bows face-up (or at least facing the same direction).
apply hot glue on the right side of the bow.
repeat until no bows are left behind.
and you’ll be left with a conga line of bows.

and now for the final touches,
hang that strand up and steam those bows!!

ET VOILÀ!
💘, Hanna
